About Pudge

Hi, I’m Pudge. I’m 32 years old and have struggled with my weight most of my life. When I was a young child, my mother used to have to beg me to eat anything. I was very skinny and much smaller than my classmates. So much so that my mother used to say that she’d rather me be fat than not eat. Well, it wasn’t long before she got her wish. I started gaining weight when I was in the second grade. I was a little chunky all through elementary and middle school. In high school, I dropped some weight my senior year and got into shape. It didn’t last long though. I got married right out of high school and ballooned up to my highest weight ever. I weight around 255 pounds. On a 5′2″ frame that’s a huge burden, not to mention I looked awful. After three years, the marriage ended abruptly and I quickly lost 60 lbs dealing with it all. While I was much lighter than I had been, I still hadn’t really gotten to where I wanted or needed to be. I stayed at that weight for a few years, but then one January I made a resolution that I stuck with. I ate less, and better and worked out every day. Within 6 months, I had lost another 60 lbs. At 135, I was in better shape than I had ever been and I felt great! That was about 5 years ago. I’ve since gotten comfortable in another relationship and really let myself go again. I’m not as heavy as I once was, but I’m really not too far from it now either. This is the time to stick to that New Year’s resolution again. With some hard work, will-power, and determination, I’m going to get that body back! I’m going to make that scale show a decent number again. And I’m going to celebrate it all with a trip to Mexico in April with my girls!

My weaknesses are cheese, ice cream, and fast food of just about any variety. Its so quick and convenient but I know its killing me. My favorite healthy foods are grilled chicken, shrimp, eggs, low fat string cheese, Progressive Soups, and salads. I’m not a fan of most vegetables and I struggle to fit in the servings I need. Any recommendations on how to eat more veggies and actually enjoy them are welcomed and appreciated.

To accomplish my goals, I’m using weight watchers online to keep my calories counts in check, but I’m spending my calories on high protein, lean protein, low carb foods. I’m trying to slowly but surely ween myself off of diet soda and making sure I get in 2-3 liters or more of water each day.
